Top 3 Tips on How Successful Entrepreneurs Manage Their Time

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 by bobgarner

Setting out to succeed with your own business requires managing your time well. If not done properly, not only will you waste time and not efficiently achieve your goals, but you may also find yourself losing clients, money, and/or possibly even the business, itself.

Here are three simple steps you could take in order to manage your time more effectively.

Step One: Develop a Plan of Action

You need to know what you want to accomplish and the time frame in which you want it accomplished. Developing an overall plan of action will aid you in achieving your goal. So, begin by writing down your primary goal and then writing down what steps you need to take in order to realize that goal. It sounds so simple, but most people don’t do this and become distracted and waste an inordinate amount of time. So, do not make the mistake of disregarding this important point.

Step Two: Develop a List for Each Step

Take each step and compose a list of smaller steps you may need to take in order to achieve each step. (Think of them as sub-steps.) This will help you tackle each step correctly and systematically. Additionally, you won’t forget or overlook something important and then have to go back and fix what you missed. You don’t want to overlook this, because fixing a mistake can cost you time, as well as money.

Step Three: Complete Each Activity

Finally, when focusing on managing your time, you’ll want to make sure and complete each step – and all the sub-steps. Set aside some time each day to review your plan and your steps. Examine what you did or didn’t do and make adjustments. Don’t be too hard on yourself – everything takes time. Remember that even if you only complete one or two steps a day, each accomplishment brings you closer to achieving your goal.

Keep in mind that your goal is about improving some aspect of your life – financial, physical, emotional, etc. And as long as your goal does not harm another living being – or creature – then it is a worthwhile goal and one in which you should make all attempts to achieve.

Successful entrepreneurs understand the importance of managing their time and follow a system that aids them in achieving their goals as quickly and efficiently as possible. They also understand the importance of actually “doing the work” to complete each step along the path to their goal. By following the above three steps, you will use your time wisely, cut down on distractions and time wasters, and systematically move closer to achieving your goal.

As a successful entrepreneur for nearly 30 years, I know these steps work. You can find other ideas to help you build your business and achieve goals on my funny motivational speaker blog . Trade Show Magician Bob Garner Creates a Major Buzz

Saturday, June 12th, 2010 by jillops

Trade show magician Bob Garner just returned from working with long-time client Covidien at the Henry Schein Conference. He was there to reinforce Covidien’s message and create a buzz about their exhibit throughout the show.  Here is what Covidien had to say:

“At the Henry Schein Conference, Covidien wanted to create a buzz throughout the floor. We brought in Bob Garner to help us do it … and he did it! Bob helped to make our booth the talk of the show. Bob amazed the attendees and talked about our products, as only he can! He had people lining up to see him. In short, the reaction was tremendous! If you want to create a huge impact at a show; if you want attendees to be talking about your booth, then you will want Bob Garner.”

I know this is Bob”s funny motivational speaker blog and it should be in his trade show magician blog , but I thought it would be cool to have it here too!

Funny Motivational Speaker Blog Bob’s Keynote Hits a Home Run For Sta-Home Health & Hospice

Monday, May 31st, 2010 by jillops

Wanted to add a note on Bob’s funny motivational speaker blog about his recent keynote for Sta-Home.  Held in Jackson, Mississippi at the huge Trade Mart Center, funny keynote speaker Bob Garner delivered his keynote for Sta-Home Health &  Hospice at their annual event. Instead of me writing about how well he did, I’ll let them tell you.

“A standing ovation from nearly 900 members of Sta-Home Health & Hospice was what Bob Garner received for providing an inspiring, informative and entertaining keynote at our annual luncheon. Our health care agency provides nursing care, rehab and hospice for over 5000 patients. Bob’s keynote, ‘What Can I Do From This Point Forward,’ succinctly addressed issues that we wanted our staff and providers to hear such as how to diminish stress from our professional and personal lives, deal with worry and the importance of embracing change. Bob took the time to customize his program to include our needs and concerns and provided relevant information that our group could quickly utilize. Additionally, Bob’s demonstrations of mindreading and ESP, his clean humor and fun audience participation not only had our group amazed and astounded, but also laughing and having fun while they listened to Bob’s important messaging. Bob was easy to work with both on and off stage and was great addition to our event. ‘Once you see him, you’ll never forget him’ is a true description of Bob Garner.”

Funny Motivational Speaker Video – Watch my latest video

Sunday, May 30th, 2010 by bobgarner

I love being able to add videos to my funny motivational speaker blog. This is a short video of my presentation for Pfaff – one of the leading makers of sewing machines and products. It was held at the Hyatt in Phoenix with over 300 dealers/attendees of the conference. I delivered my “What Can I Do From This Point Forward” presentation which was “right-on-target” for this amazing group of fun and innovative people.

What a fun group of people. I was pleased that they enjoyed my program. Here is what the Director of Corporate Events had to say:

“A big standing ovation is what Bob Garner received after his kick-off keynote at our 23rd Annual Pfaff International Dealer Convention. Pfaff is one of the largest distributors of household sewing machines and related accessories, and our group was the top authorized dealerships of Pfaff products throughout the world. We wanted a speaker who was highly entertaining, but who could deliver something of value. In today’s economy, our people needed to hear what Bob had to say. His message of “What Can I Do from This Point Forward” was just perfect, addressed our group’s concerns, and provided steps that were applicable to their needs. Obviously, the entertainment – the amazing demonstrations of mindreading, clean comedy and audience participation – was also right on target. ‘Once you see him, you’ll never forget him’ is truly a correct description of Bob Garner. Thanks again for a great job!” – Director of Corporate Events, Pfaff Inc.
